Detail of 720 cell
Construction of the projection of the 720 cell into 3D space. The 720 cell is the truncation of the 600 cell, which means that each vertex is sliced off.
The 600 Cell built of Zome Tools is a 3D shadow of a 4D Polytope: the true 600 Cell. The 720 Cell is a 600 Cell truncated to edge midpoints. It is the 600 Cell with every vertex chopped off. We have taken pictures of every cell that was used to build our 720 (one of them is scaled down) and also taken pictures of many of the symmetries of the 720. Note the Tunneling 'Star of David', tunneling pentagons (which are actually part of an icosahedron) and the flattened icosahedrons on the outer layer of the figure. If you have seen the figure in person, look at the beautiful stand that we built. However, since the figure is not glued together, be careful around it. — Roby
